For simplicity purpose, the main modification is the withdrawal of the direct link to download on homepage, search page, alphabetical list pages and the likes: it is now only possible to download savegames files from unitary game pages. Additional needed adjustments here and there, typos and layout correction, and so on.

Big downloads bug fixed

Thanks to a PC Savegames user, a bug has been spotted for the download of big files (size greater than 128Mb). An update of the concerned pages has been put online today. By the way, happy new year!

PC Savegames lives again !

After almost a year long pause, PC Savegames comes back to life. Hail to the king, baby ! I had to put PC Savegames aside for quite a few months for personal matters. Of course this new start comes with great pleasure for me.
To mark the occasion, a new minor version of the site has been put online. Deep reduction of content has been made to concentrate on what PC Savegames is about: savegames. How surprising indeed. So screenshots, reviews, patches, discussion board and other things have been shut down for good. I hope these changes will improve the browsing on PC Savegames in terms of quality and clarity.
New packs of saved games will soon be available and will be added on a regular basis from now on to the already well endowed database. Stay in touch and until then, keep playing !

Missing patches added to Quake franchise

Patches related to the mission packs of Quake franchise were missing since the update of PC Savegames to 9.1 version, needless to say for quite a big amount of time. This situation has been corrected tonight.

Savegames update for Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

An hyperlink problem has been solved last week about this particular game. Savegames were linked to files that didn't exist. If one tried to download savegames for Jedi Outcast, one would obtained corrupted zip files. This problem has been addressed for now.

Download manager updated

The download code on PC Savegames was broken: the downloaded zip files were corrupted due to integration of HTML code to the header of the zip file. Such programs as WinZip or 7-Zip were unable to decompress the files, even if WinRAR could do the trick.
This small piece of code has been updated and from now on any file downloaded on PC Savegames is in a real zip format.

New year, new version

A new year comes up and PC Savegames lives again. After several months looking quite dead, I hope a new era opens today with this new version which brings a bunch of new features.
Despite not being completely finalized according to my plan, this version works like a charm though. It's the result of a hard work to convert the site to PHP/mySQL: I had to learn all the basics of this wonderful combo. As usual, PC Savegames isn't quite ahead of its time.
Talking about new features, the main one will satisfy many of you. It's the ability to download only the savegame file you want and not the whole savegames pack as before. The other features are mainly about new sorting choices and browsing easiness (genre, franchise, release date, etc.).
The whole site has also been rewrite for the design part (fonts, size, colors, etc.) in order to bring uniformity and accessibility. This won't be noticeable by most of you though.
Please note that a new section has been opened in the forum. It will allow you to post comments for each game provided on PC Savegames.
After this work done from scratch, the site update will be easier for me. Therefore, PC Savegames will be updated regularly from now on, probably on a weekly basis.
Even if the site has no real contribution platform, I encourage you to contact me if you want your savegames to be put on PC Savegames and shared to a larger audience.
Meanwhile, I wish you a pleasant surf on PC Savegames and a happy new 2008 !

Advertisement banner and PayPal donation

You have probably already noticed the advertisement banner on PC Savegames. I did my best not to disturb the browsing with what Google offered. I don't know yet if that choice is a good one. This banner won't be around forever if the results are not sufficient. Let's say it will be out in the next three months if I'm disappointed. It's worth a try though.
You may have also noticed that I put a PayPal donation link at the very bottom of the page, in case some of you wanted to reward the neverending efforts (I hope it will be) of your humble servant. That link is doomed to stay here forever.
But let's forget those money considerations and let me wish you a happy new year 2007, may you find what you're looking for on PC Savegames.

Savegames update for Grim Fandango

I just realised those days the savegames brought to you for Grim Fandango were incomplete since the beginning. A whole part of the Year 4 was missing, including the final saved games. I took the time to review this part of the game to make new savegames and here they are: complete at last. I'm sorry for the disturbance some of you may have encountered.
